This Neo-Classical commercial building originally housed Needs Lodging.

Over the years, occupants have included the Monterey Hotel, offices, a meeting hall, jewelers, tailors and other retailers.

The Needs-Williams Building is a Eureka Historic Landmark and contributes to the Eureka Old Town Historic District.
