The village of Châteaudouble is situated high on a steep, rocky cliff, overlooking
the River Nartuby and the Gorges de Châteaudouble. One of the two towers that stood
guard against medieval enemies still rises above the town. From there, and the
adjoining village cemetery, one has a great view of the surrounding countryside.
