Near the town of Dos Rios, looking north on the Main Fork of the Eel River with the abandoned Nortwestern Pacific Railroad on the west bank and Cavelo Road (California Route 162) on the
east bank. NWP, elegantly nicknamed the Redwood Empire Route and whimsically nicknamed Nowhere in Particular, ran from Marin County in the south to
Humboldt Count in the north.
