This Second French Empire building facing the northeast corner of Alamo Square was built as a home for Patrick Riordan, the second archbishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Francisco.

The building, which has recently been operated as a bed and breakfast inn, is in the Alamao Square Historic District.
