The Loire and Paris

In 1994, Bob and Al visit France for the first time. Bob keeps a journal of their experiences in the Loire Valley and Paris. Al builds his first web pages to publish the journal. This was long, long ago when our ISP was Mindspring, and our DSL provider was Northpoint Communications, both companies long gone.

Dutch in Three Weeks

In May 2001, Louis has some unusual adventures in Amsterdam while attempting to pronounce Dutch.

(Louis did not have a camera with him in 2001, but in 2006, he somewhat reluctantly took a tourist photo while visiting Keukenhof.)

Amsterdam for Free

The year is 2007. Louis takes to Amsterdam various foods that are not readily available there so that he can cook Southwestern American regional dishes for his Dutch friends. This means carrying fresh tomatillos, fresh pasilla chiles, an assortment of chile powders, whole corn meal, and Bay Area dried fruits, most especially cherries and apricots for Rina.
